There is nothing more reassuring for Christians than to know the power of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Paul exclaimed in Philippians 3:10 “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings.” Our sins are forgiven because of Jesus’ death, our old life has been laid in the grave and new life results, and the sting of death has been taken away because of Jesus’ resurrection. The evidence of these 3 truths can be seen in the follow passage…
2 Timothy 2:11-13
“This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.”
There is, however, a warning in the second part of verse 12: “If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” This statement mirrors Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 10:33 & Luke 12:9. Jesus promises that He will personally deny, before His Father & the angels of God, the one who rejects Him. Salvation is a priceless gift we receive by God’s amazing grace through our faith. Jesus was & is & will always be faithful. It is part of His nature as God. May our faithfulness be a result of God’s presence through the Holy Spirit who dwells in every true believer.
Have a blessed day,
