“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.“
When we go to bed at night, may this passage bring comfort to our journey of rest through the night. We cannot guard ourselves in sleep, but the Lord promises to keep us through the night. Those who lie down under the protection of the Lord are as secure as kings and queens in their palaces.
If when we lie down there is a lying down of all cares and ambitions, we will get the needed refreshment out of our beds that the anxious or covetous person never will. Bad dreams can be banished, and even if they do come, we can wipe out the impression of them, knowing that they are only dreams.
We can at all times cast our cares upon the Lord, because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). This even includes the time we spend asleep at night when all of our cares are placed in the hands of God.
Have a blessed day,
Pastor Greg
